Puffer Jacket

I am in love with this puffer jacket and the fact that it's in one of my all time favourite colour ( black) makes it even better. When I saw it at the retail store I just had to have it. It's chic and versatile, plus the detachable faux fur on the hoodie makes it look more stylish. My mom used to buy me a lot of puffer jackets when I was younger but back then we called them body warmers. The puffer jacket has been the biggest hit this season, I usually don't like following trends but I found myself loving this trend . Its really comfortable and warm and I love that I can wear it up or down depending on where I am going. For a more sporty-chic look ( especially when I'm going to my yoga class) I usually pair it with yoga pants , a fitted long sleeve top and sneakers then I'm good to go. For a more dolled up look, I pair it up with Jeans, a black body suit, heels and a black floppy. For this look I paired it up with leggings, fitted black top and knee-high boots.

For the love of Elle

Happy Monday everyone. I am so happy that I have been sticking to my blogging schedule, I decided to plan out my blog posts a week in advance because that forces me to produce content properly and helps me post in a consistent manner. I love flat lays and you'll notice when you go through my blog that I post a lot of flat lays that include my favourite magazine, Elle . I've been a fan of Elle since my high school days, and the first time I picked up an Elle magazine I was so fascinated with all the fashion content that they had, little did I know that fashion would be such  a big part of my life. Whenever I need fashion inspiration I page through Elle, more especially when I experience a creative block or I need some style inspiration.

A beautiful dress fit for a beautiful bride

How beautiful is this House of JM Designs wedding gown? We love how stunning it looked on the bride. We are really proud of ourselves for the quality of work we have been producing and we are even more proud of how much our business has grown. No feeling can compare to that of making  a client happy and by the looks of our bride's pictures it's quite clear that she felt really beautiful in the dress we made her. The best thing about this bride is that she already knew what she wanted when she first came to us, she had sketched her dress out and just needed us to make it for her. Old hollywood glam

This is another dress that we made for the Mr/Miss Vaal pageant, it was for Miss Vaal 2016. The theme is old Hollywood glam, we wanted to create something more mature and sophisticated for her but we also wanted the design to exude a bit of sexiness  so we made it an off-shoulder dress with see-through mesh . The silver strips also added a bit of detail to the dress, just enough to break off the navy a bit. We had to stitch the strips one by one to create the criss-cross effect, so a lot of work went into this dress but every minute was worth seeing how beautiful the end result was. Parka season

For me, every winter season is parka season. Heck, I even wear my parka jacket on a chilly summers day\night .It's one of those items I can never get enough of, plus I bought it in my favourite colour, olive. I am super obsessed with my parka jacket  and if I could wear it all year round I would lol . It adds such a chic  touch to my winter wardrobe and the fur just makes it even more stylish, and the best part of it is, the fur is detachable. For me a parka jacket is a classic piece, it never goes out of style. It's the ultimate  outerwear item that you can dress up or down. A parka jacket is one of those items every woman should own, its a fashion staple that has defied the trends of time and continues to do so. A parka jacket  can also be paired up with a short, slip dress/fitted dress and strappy heels for a dolled up look or if you want to dress it down you can pair it up with jeans , a loose t-shirt and sneakers. For this look I took the casual route and paired up my parka with jeans, a fitted white top and tan, high heel boots.

I love it when we make a dress and the client is happy with the end product,because when a client is happy we're happy. We made this red dress for a client who was going to the Vodacom Durban July. I love how beautiful it looks on her, it's sexy and classy at the same time and the red colour works quite well with her skin tone. The accessories also complimented the whole look.

Cuppa something

Happy Monday everyone!!!  I cant believe it's July already, time is flying by so fast which is quite scary to be honest. Nothing makes me happier than having a cup of coffee while going through my favourite magazine, plus one of my favourite artists is on the cover. I love Solange, from her hair to her style, to her creativity... she inspires me a lot. I love how she has grown to be comfortable with who she is and her growth shows through her new music.
